Information
Linda has enjoyed painting all her life. Her fascination with experimenting with the new and unusual has allowed her to develop many new design concepts and background "faux finish" presentations. With the introduction of Deco Art Traditions, another new adventure began and has continued to delight her with its unbelievable abilities.
Linda recieved her CDA in 1978 and her MDA in 1982. From 1982 until 1987, she was very active with the Society of Decorative Painters serving on their Board of Directors, on the Certification Committee, and then chairing that same committee for 3 years. Linda and her staff were also part of the Las Vegas Creative Painting Convention for 10 years.
She has authored 4 Decorative Art books and numerous articles for the various painting magazines. Over the past 10 years, she has been publishing her own DESIGN BOOKLETS that contain one large, or serveral smaller (but related) designs in her presentations of classical art techniques presented on furniture items. Linda's design presentations is one of design and structure intregration. Instead of a design decorating a piece of furniture, the furniture becomes the artwork with the design as an integral part of the structure.
Linda teaches numerous travel workshops a year along with her yearly advanced workshops in Japan. She has been teaching yearly in Japan since 1995 and has had a school of "Classical techniques" operating there since 1998. In April of 2001, the Cleo Company began Linda's third "Classical techniques" school in Argentina which is still operating under the guidance of Martha Veronesi. The rest of Linda's time is spent creating new designs for the 6 DAY STUDIO SCHOOLS that are held in her home studio 6 times each year. These schools are for the serious students interested in learning and developing the various adaptations of "Classical Techniques" that are used when creating an individual artist's desired effects. In nearly every class, the students are representative of many different countries and thoroughly enjoy sharing their cultures and their own versions of the teaching and painting techniques.
Linda's career has led her into the Interior Design market with the increasing desire for CUSTOMIZED DESIGNS on the unusual furniture items. She and members of her design team attend the International Markets in Atlanta yearly to research the latest trends and design ideas. This allows her to develop designs that are not trendy, but "timeless".
